February 2007 Newsletter

Poems hide. In the bottoms of our shoes,

they are sleeping. They are the shadows

drifting across our ceilings the moment

before we wake up. What we have to do

is live in a way that lets us find them.

(from “Valentine for Ernest Mann” by Naomi Shihab Nye)

Hello fellow dreamers:
I hope this finds you all doing well and dreaming abundantly!
I wanted to let you know about a new resource on the Internet, www.whisperingtree.net This very elegant website features informative articles, beautiful photos and listings of alternative health practitioners, all of whom must have verifiable references before they can be listed. I’m honored to be featured in the “Practitioners Spotlight” in their Feb newsletter which should be up on the website sometime next week. (click on “Community News” and then “Newsletters”)
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the upcoming Spring Dreamwork Retreat at Sunrise Ranch, May 18-20, 2007. The brochures will be in the mail in the next week or two. This time around we’ll be offering Dream Portrayal facilitated by Michael Tappan and Irene Clurman as a break-out session option as well. The retreats continue to grow and develop each year and I’m excited to be part of the ongoing creation. It’s not too early to reserve your spot and not a bad idea either since some accommodations fill up fast. Just call 303-929-6122 or email me at wakeuptoyourdreams@earthlink.net
For upcoming dates for the Boulder Dream Groups, check out my web calendar on the “News and Events” page. To reserve your spot for any group, please call 303-929-6122 or email me at wakeuptoyourdreams@earthlink.net Drop-in rate $25 ~ $20 when you sign up for two or more sessions.
Here are some upcoming events for the months of February and March:
Altered Book Workshop

facilitated by Star Edwards
Red Delicious Press
9901 East 16th Ave in Aurora Arts District
Fri, Feb 9th, 7PM-9PM,
Sat, Feb 10th, 11AM-3M
Sun, Feb 11th, 10AM-Noon
Altered books are art projects that may (or may not) convey “sequence” (as in a story). Pages are “altered” in a way that a transformation takes place on each page. Many times a book is also seen as a metaphor for our life – since we also experience sequence; books make a perfect medium for that expression.
Call 303-366-2922 for more information

Cost is $60 for non-members – $55 for members (for one workshop)
For the series of all 3 workshops (#1 on Dreams, #2 on Threads of Life, #3 on Love), the fee is $150 for members and $180 for non-members
The dates for #2 “Threads” and #3 “Love” workshops will be announced soon
Dream Portrayal Workshops
facilitated by Irene Clurman & Michael Tappan
Sat, Feb 10th, 10AM to 4PM, Denver
Dream Portrayal combines group discussions with techniques that allow participants to embody and interact with dream characters and physically explore dream landscapes. Bring a dream to put in the hat and/or learn by entering others’ dreams for an unforgettable journey into the mysteries of the collective unconscious.

Dream Portrayal facilitator Michael Tappan has trained in improv theater and apprenticed with shamans in Siberia and the Ecuadorian Andes. Irene Clurman is a yoga teacher and longtime dreamworker.

If you’re looking for a new place to take your Valentine this year or if you’re just ready for a night out, check out Nissi’s Music and Bistro in Lafayette, www.nissis.com Over the last year, Nissi’s has become my favorite hangout. My husband and I love to connect with our friends and enjoy a night out with live music in an intimate setting along with exquisitely prepared food. Owned and operated by Teresa Taylor, Nissi’s is a unique music venue in that the music starts early and, therefore, ends early so you get home at a decent hour!

Voted Boulder County’s Best Live Music Venue— and The Best Restaurant in Lafayette, Louisville, Erie and Superior—Nissi’s is the new hot spot for a great dinner and entertaining show along the front range of Colorado. Nissi’s is located on the main floor of the Bridgetown building in Lafayette, Colorado. Bridgetown also hosts business meetings during the day and other, private events on certain evenings.

Visit their calendar at www.nissis.com to see what’s coming up. And get your tickets early as many shows sell out in advance. Doors open at 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday for Happy Hour, and 6:30 for gourmet small plates (family-style) dining. Most acts begin at 7:30-7:45 p.m., and dinner is served until 9:30 p.m.

In the meantime, wishing all of you a Happy Valentine’s Day!
Peace and Honey in the Heart,

Billie
